Charging Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) batteries

Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) batteries are gaining traction across industries that require rapid charging, wide temperature operation, and extended cycle life. From industrial automation to medical mobility equipment, their robustness and safety characteristics make them well-suited for demanding applications. However, charging LTO batteries correctly is essential to maximise their lifespan and performance.

A selection of Mascot’s Blueline charger range offers flexible and reliable solutions compatible with LTO chemistry, in addition to Lead Acid, Li-Ion, LiFePO4 and NiMH chemistries. Supporting configurations from 1 up to 20 cells, these chargers are designed to deliver precise control over voltage and current, ensuring safe operation and optimal battery charging.

LTO cells typically operate at a nominal voltage of 2.4V and allow rapid charge rates without compromising cycle life. The Blueline’s three-stage charging algorithm is configurable to accommodate these characteristics.

Most of the Blueline chargers are tested to meet EN 60601-1 ed. 3.1, Home healthcare: EN 60601-1-11, Household safety: EN 60335-1 & -2-29 and EN 60601-1-2 standards, making them suitable for use in medical environments where safety and compliance are non-negotiable. With low minimum order quantities and custom design options, we support both standard and specialised LTO battery applications.
